Chandran Muttath

Essay: A Journey Through The Theyyam Universe

Chandran Muttath is a Senior Fellow from the Central Department of Culture and was born and brought up in the heartland of Theyyam. He has a Master's Degree in Economics and English Literature and Bachelor's Degree in Education. He served as the college's Secretary of the Economics Association and editor of "The Economist Magazine." He was the Malayala Manorama Daily news correspondent in Kanhangad Bureau, where Theyyam is predominantly based.

He is a scriptwriter for movies and docu-fiction films. He also presented programs on folklore and literature on Thiruvananthapuram Dooradarshan and Kannur Akashavani. He is a writer for various magazines and journals.

Noteworthy Awards: He received many awards, including the Prof. Joseph Mundassery Award for the State Scientific Literature of Education Department, the Best Study Book Award of the Department of Culture, the Kerala Folk Lore Academy Special Award, the National Integration Award for Writing organized by the NGO Association at State level, Chirakal T Balakrishnan Nair award from Malayalapadasala language school, Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose Research Award of Thrissur Center for Netaji Studies. Freedom Fighter Vishnu Nambeeshan Memorial Book Award, Sunday School State Level Best Director Award, Kannur Film Chamber's State Video Filmfest Award, Atlas Jeevan TV Telefest Special Award, Sahora State Story Award Sahora Cultural Venue Story Award, Thakazhi Ayyappakurupu Memorial State Story Competition Special Jury Award.
